The St. Lawrence River in the Heart of the Boreal Winter
This departure is available in combination with the ocean voyage from Bergen to Montreal on February 2, 2027, aboard Le Commandant Charcot. The ocean voyage is offered free of charge as part of this booking. Discover the cruise here.

In the heart of the northern winter, set sail aboard Le Commandant Charcot, a welcoming cocoon, to discover the St. Lawrence River and its unique and enchanting wide open spaces. From Montréal to Gaspé, via Saguenay, Belle Isle Strait and Corner Brook, cruise on the mighty waters of this body of water and admire the changing landscapes where nature reigns supreme.

The boreal forests and pristine valleys invite contemplation and exploration. You may even be lucky enough to spot an iconic caribou or moose in this magnificent setting, where the colourful dwellings of the temporary fishing villages built on the ice of the Saguenay Fjord defy the harshness of the winter landscape. Experience warm, unforgettable moments as you meet local communities renowned for their hospitality.

Extend your journey with a complimentary programme in Montreal, before or after your cruise. **Offer valid for each guest from 26th March to 31st May 2026 on a selection of cruises aboard Le Commandant Charcot, valid for any new booking and subject to availability. The offer cannot be backdated and cannot be exchanged for a voucher, credit or any other service; it can be combined with current offers, excluding “No single supplement”.

For bookings by a guest travelling alone, the offer remains applicable but the single supplement (single room) will be invoiced in accordance with current conditions. In the event of cancellation by the guest, the establishment’s standard cancellation terms and conditions will apply. The itinerary is subject to change based on port approvals and to comply with applicable government regulations.

Please also note that the sailing programme, shore visits and activities cannot be guaranteed, as they are subject to weather and ice conditions. This itinerary is given for information purposes only. We are privileged guests in these extreme lands where we are at the mercy of weather and ice conditions.

Our navigation, mainly in the fjords, will be determined by the type of ice we come across; as the fast ice must be preserved, we will take this into account from day to day in our itineraries. The sailing programme, itinerary, outings, activities and observation of fauna cannot be guaranteed and are subject to weather and ice conditions. The experiences are unique and vary from day to day and for each departure.

The Captain and the Expedition Leader will make every effort to ensure that your experience is as rich as possible, while respecting safety instructions and regulations imposed by the AECO
